Thomas Dalvang Fleurquin / BIO
Born 21 Novembre 1973, raised in Paris XIV / Paris XV. Moved to Copenhagen in 1998.
I moved to Copenhagen in early 1998, age 24, to help establish The Copenhagen Post, Denmark's weekly English-language newspaper. After working on its production routine and distribution network, I founded the Post's guide section. As Guide Editor (1998 - 2008), I wrote over 18.000 reviews about Copenhagen culture and events - learning the ins and outs of over 2.100 Copenhagen locations & institutions.
In September 1998, I started Distortion as an "anything-goes" party concept, with the tagline: A Celebration of Copenhagen Nightlife. In June 2000, Distortion became a 5-day festival gathering every year our "best-of Copenhagen's cutting-edge art, culture and clubbing scene". Without knowing it, we actively exploited what became our trademark: "public space", they call it. We call it Block Parties.
In 2001 I launched the human infomail, an almost-weekly newsletter with three sections: Copenhagen is FINE, Copenhagen is RAW, Copenhagen is HOT. Thanks to the infomail's enthusiastic involvement in anything FINE, RAW and HOT in Copenhagen, the Distortion festival slowly became an institution among Copenhagen's party communities - and the annual who's who for DJs, ravers, promotors, artists-involved-in-party, fashion bums and active party animals.
To finance Distortion & human infomail - and to survive - I have worked for hundreds of projects, from the massive Fox Project (worldwide launch of a new VW car) to the leading film festivals in Denmark (Natfilm & CPH:DOX): as creative consultant, event designer, location scout, artistic director, production manager, promotor... see the full list HERE.
In 2006, we started Nus/Nus - a serious ApS company to overtake the Distortion festival and the human infomail, so these could become more "professional" projects. One of the steps was to gather the human infomail network on a website: www.actionhygge.com. Nus/Nus is where I work now.
See the fabulous Nus/Nus network HERE.
Via my engagement with Copenhagen's city-life, as festival director, as Guide Editor, as all-over-the-place party zulu but mainly, i guess, due to my outbursts in the infamous human infomail newsletter (sometimes funny, sometimes over-the-top), I have achieved some sort of weird status as "the crazy French party guy". So, I got a little media attention. See it all HERE (under construction).
I am always happy to put my ideas, my network - and my extensive knowledge of Copenhagen city life - to use for external partners: public or private.

Jeg taler dansk - men jeg skriver lidt sjov.
Je suis toujours plutôt Francais, mais habiter au pays c'est pas possible - c'est trop le bordel!! A Copenhague tout roule.
